Welcome to the PM² Alliance Advisory Committees

The purpose of the PM² Alliance Advisory Committees (ACs) is to help craft the PM² Alliance’s strategy in various domains. Advisory Committee Members (ACMs) are experts in their fields and accomplished professionals with a proven commitment to the advancement of the PM² Alliance’s Vision. 

Advisory Committee Members (ACMs) are appointed by the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD). They don’t have an executive role and have no legal responsibilities related to the Alliance (not liability). However, driven by a strong sense of contribution they play an important role in serving the global PM² Alliance community from a leadership volunteer position.

    • They reflect the PM² Alliance’s international and cross-disciplinary composition, bringing unique knowledge, experience and skills to guide the organisation by providing advice, insight and experts’ perspective. 
    • They advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoDand the CEO on the management of emerging opportunities, important risks, issues or other challenges, and on improving and expanding the PM²Alliance’s programs and services for the benefit of its members, clients, partner and affiliated organisations.
    • They act as ambassadors of the PM²Alliance increasing awareness of PM² and the PM²Alliance programmes and services in Europe and globally.
    • They introduce to the PM²Alliance new qualified candidates for the existing or new Advisory Committees.

How it works

Through quarterly self-organised meetings, each Advisory Committee advises on the development and execution of strategy in their particular domain. Representatives of each Advisory Committee can participate in the annual BoD meetings representing their groups.

The PM² Alliance Advisory Committee Members (ACMs) undertake a commitment to:

  • Participate in the PM² Alliance advisory committee meetings contributing with their domain knowledge and experiences, in developing strategy to foster appreciation of PM² as a common, open and free methodology;
  • Support the implementation of the PM² Alliance strategies, plans and activities and be motivated by their community contribution;
  • Appreciate the PM² Mindsets and observe the PM² Personal & Professional Virtues;
  • Abide by the PM² Alliance non-disclosure terms;
  • Respect and follow the Code of Ethics of the PM² Alliance.

Based on the PM² Alliance strategic needs, the following Committees are defined:

  1. EU Public Administration Advisory Committee EU

    The purpose of the EU Public Administration Advisory Committee for Methodology Adoption and Management Excellence is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors on enhancing the adoption and implementation of PM² Methodology within EU public administrations, aiming to achieve excellence in project management and governance practices.

    These strategies assist the PM² Alliance to:

    • Advocate for the adoption of PM² Methodology across EU public administrations.
    • Encourage the integration of PM² in public sector management frameworks.
    • Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration among EU member states.
    • Support the development of PM² tailored training and certification for public administrators.
    • Promote the use of PM² for effective management of public sector projects, programmes and portfolios, particularly for the implementation of digital transformation and reforms.
    • Provide insights and expertise on adapting PM² to various administrative contexts within the EU.
    • Foster the creation of communities of practice within and across the EU public administration for exchange of best practices, and continuous learning and improvement.
    • Monitor trends in public administration to ensure PM² remains aligned with the evolving needs of the public sector.
  2. Academic & Universities Advisory Committee​

    The purpose of this committee is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD) on developing strategies that bring closer the PM² Alliance and Academia for the purpose of promoting the benefits of the PM² Methodology.

    These strategies help the PM² Alliance:

    • Promote the PM² Methodology in Academia​
    • Foster collaborations within and across Academic institutions
    • Create opportunities and provide incentives for research in PM²
    • Develop avenues for the promotion and publication of PM² research
    • Enable the cross-pollination of PM² knowledge and research between various academic disciplines
    • Provide educators with PM² course curricula and teaching material
    • Engage in other academia related domains providing insights from a perspective of special knowledge and expertise​
    • Engage the undergraduate and graduate student community through the student ambassador programmes and the entry-level Student Certification.
    • Monitor the academic landscape and propose changes to the Alliance's strategy
  3. International Institutions Advisory Committee​

    The purpose of this committee is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD) on developing strategies that help establish the PM² Alliance as a trusted partner for all International Institutions and facilitate the forging of alliances and collaborations for the advancement of PM² within the EU and beyond.

    These strategies help the PM² Alliance:

    • Promote the PM² Methodology in International Institutions
    • Provide supporting information and expert insights in the application of the PM² Methodology in all domains of application​ 
    • Provide a network of qualified professionals and supplier organisations that can offer PM² consulting, training and support services to the Institutions
    • Provide PM² Certification Services to Institution's contractors and temporary staff
    • Work with Institutions to enable the onboarding of their stakeholders onto PM²
    • Identify common issues and enable the cross-pollination of PM² knowledge between Institutions
    • Monitor the Institutions landscape and propose changes to the Alliance's strategy
  4. EU Funded Programmes Advisory Committee​

    The purpose of this committee is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD) on developing strategies that help develop the strategies that bring the benefits of the PM² Methodology to EU Funded Programmes.

    These strategies help the PM² Alliance:

    • Raise awareness and use of PM² best practices for the management of EU funded projects
    • Help connect funding objectives to annual programmes
    • Strengthen the relationship of project deliverables to positive and sustainable impact
    • Position the PM² Alliance as a trusted advisor for all EU funding programmes 
    • Provide PM² Certification to Project Coordinators and connect them with our qualified PM² Affiliated Training Provider (ATPs) network
    • Connect Consortia and beneficiaries with qualified PM² partners and suppliers 
    • Participate in selected EU Funded Projects as a contributor in the field of project coordination
  5. Methodologies Advisory Committee​

    The purpose of this committee is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD) on developing strategies that will make the PM²  Methodology known, valued​ , and of the highest quality.

    This Advisory Committee will:

    • Ensure Methodology quality by providing corrections and recommendations for improvements
    • Advise on Methodology evolution
    • Coordinate the integration and release of new Methodology assets that extend and complement the core PM² Methodology
    • Oversee the Methodology Translations
    • Work with other Advisory Committees for the tailoring of the Methodology for specific domains or areas of application
  6. Certifications Advisory Committee​

    The purpose of this committee is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD) on developing strategies that will make the PM²  Alliance certification programme known and valued​.

    This Advisory Committee will:

    • Provide domain expertise and quality assurance for the PM² Certification Programme
    • Develop strategies for establishing bridges and collaborations with other certification schemes within the broader project management domain.
  7. Open Source Community Advisory Committee​

    The purpose of this committee is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD) on developing strategies that will help the PM² Alliance engage in open-source projects and in establishing PM² as the most accessible and valuable open-source Project Management Methodology.

    These strategies help the PM² Alliance:

    • Make PM² known in the open-source community
    • Establish PM² in the open-source community as the preferred way to initiate and run open-source projects
    • Establish connections with other open-source Associations for the purposes of promoting the open-source philosophy in all fields of application 
    • Become an active contributor and a creator of open-source solutions in the broader domain of project management
  8. Corporate Partnership Advisory Committee​

    The purpose of this committee is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD) on developing strategies that help the PM² Alliance devise and implement strategies that provide value to Organisations.

    These strategies help the PM² Alliance:

    • Establish alliances and partnerships with private and public organisations for the advancement of better project management through the PM² Methodology
    • Develop the business ecosystem necessary to provide high-quality PM² services to the global market
    • Develop strategies that facilitate the connection of client and supplier organisations
    • Recommend the development of services that cover the emerging needs of organisational members (not just individual members)
  9. Associations & Non-Profits Advisory Committee​

    The purpose of this committee is to advise the PM² Alliance Board of Directors (BoD) on developing strategies that help develop the strategies that will bring the benefits of better project management through the PM² Methodology closer to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs - Non-For-Profit Organisations).​

    These strategies help the PM² Alliance:

    • Raise awareness on the importance of Project Management as a professional discipline that enables improved project success 
    • Promote the adoption of PM² as the PM methodology of choice for International Development Cooperation projects in order to bring its benefits to CSO around the world
    • Create awareness of PM² within the NPO/NGO community as the ideal open source free methodology for the management of their projects​​​
    • Establish partnerships with other NPO’s and other Associations
    • Establish collaborations and coordinate common actions with other Project Management and Professional Associations at European and Global levels
    • Provide vision and assistance for the tailoring of the PM² Methodology to the specific needs and contexts in which NPO work
